Outlining the minor connectors
The minor connectors that unite the direct retainers, indirect retainers, and denture base to the major connector are evaluated (Figure 8-41).
- Minor connectors must be rigid, except for the approaching arms of bar and gingival clasps.
- When placing minor connectors, considerations include patient comfort, ease of cleaning, and facilitation of artificial tooth placement.
