Removable partial denture supports

Removable partial dentures are supported by teeth and/or residual crest and overlying mucosal tissue. In controlling occlusal forces, tooth support is more important than tissue support. This becomes apparent when comparing the success of tooth-supported and tooth-tissue-supported prostheses.
